What is Tinnitus?
Tinnitus can be explained as a perception of sound within the ear. It is not a sound other people can hear externally. Instead, this is internal and will sound similar to a ringing in one or both of your ears.
You may have experienced tinnitus on the occasion your ears have been over stimulated, like when leaving a concert, club, or festival. This is common and usually goes away after a little while. Tinnitus will become a problem when it becomes too loud or too regular. In this case, around 15% to 20% of people experience tinnitus and is most commonly found to affect older adults.
